Terms of Service

This page is maintained by the operator of Bounty Bids ("we", "us") to describe the terms under which you may use the Bounty Bids website and services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. What Bounty Bids is

Bounty Bids is an online marketplace that lets clients post local jobs (for example lawn care, haircuts, cleaning, moving, home care, power washing) and lets service providers submit bids. Clients choose which provider to hire. Bounty Bids is not a party to the underlying agreement between clients and providers and does not itself perform any services.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials secure.

3. Verification

We offer email and phone verification and, for providers who accept payment, Stripe Connect onboarding. Verification badges reflect completion of those steps only and are not a guarantee of identity, quality, licensing, or insurance.

4. Posting jobs and bidding

Clients are responsible for the accuracy of job posts. Providers are responsible for the accuracy of bids and for their ability to lawfully perform the work. Do not post jobs or bids that are illegal, dangerous, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that infringe others' rights.

5. Payments & fees

When a client accepts a bid, payment is processed via Stripe. Bounty Bids collects a platform fee of 5% of the accepted bid amount; the remainder is paid out to the provider through Stripe Connect. Stripe's terms apply to all payments and payouts. You authorize us to instruct Stripe to move funds on your behalf.

6. Taxes

You are responsible for determining and paying any taxes owed on your transactions. Bounty Bids does not provide tax advice.

7. Prohibited conduct

  • No off-platform payment schemes to avoid platform fees.
  • No harassment, threats, hate speech, or discrimination.
  • No fraudulent bids, fake reviews, or manipulation of ratings.
  • No scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorized automated access.

8. Reviews, reports, and moderation

Ratings and reviews reflect user opinion and are permanent to preserve rating integrity. We may remove content, suspend accounts, or refuse service at our discretion, particularly in response to reports, chargebacks, or violations of these terms.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS verification), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), Google Maps/Leaflet tiles (maps), and Google AdSense (advertising). Your use of features that depend on those services is also subject to their terms.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant the conduct, safety, qualifications, or work quality of any user.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bounty Bids will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the platform fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bounty Bids from any claim arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your conduct, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for any reason, including violation of these terms.

14. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the operator is located, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts of that jurisdiction.
