This page is maintained by the operator of Bounty Bids to explain what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is not a certification.
Information we collect
- Account info — email, display name, optional bio and profile picture, and optional phone number.
- Job & bid content — job descriptions, photos, categories, budgets, timing windows, and messages you send.
- Location — approximate coordinates you attach to a job or share to filter nearby jobs. You control whether your browser shares location.
- Verification — email confirmation status and hashed phone verification codes (short-lived).
- Payments — handled by Stripe. We store Stripe identifiers (account, session, payment intent) but not your full card details.
- Push tokens — device tokens used to send notifications, if you enable them.
- Usage & device data — standard log data such as IP, user agent, and pages visited.
How we use it
- To operate the marketplace: show jobs, deliver bids and messages, process payments, and send notifications.
- To verify accounts and reduce fraud and abuse.
- To respond to support requests and enforce our Terms.
- To improve the Service and troubleshoot problems.
What other users can see
Your display name, avatar, rating, verification badges, and content you post (jobs, bids, reviews, messages sent to a counterparty) are visible to the users you interact with. Your email and phone number are not shown publicly.
Service providers
We share data with third parties only as needed to run the Service:
- Lovable Cloud / Supabase — database, authentication, storage, hosting.
- Stripe — payments and payouts.
- Twilio — SMS verification codes.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications.
- Google AdSense — advertising on some pages.
- Map tile providers — to render maps.
Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage for sign-in sessions, preferences, and (if enabled) advertising. You can control cookies in your browser; disabling them may break sign-in.
Data retention
We keep account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Phone verification codes are short-lived and are deleted after use or expiry.
Your choices & rights
- Update your profile info at any time from the profile page.
- Request deletion of your account by contacting us.
- Depending on your location (for example the EEA/UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the Service you consent to this transfer.
Security
We use industry-standard controls including Row Level Security on our database, encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed short-lived verification codes, and least-privilege server keys. No system is perfectly secure; use a strong, unique password.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
